Power of the Paws is dedicated to providing enrichment through exercise for your dog, allowing them to be in control!

We’re not your average dog walk—our mobile gym rolls right up to your home or office, giving your pup a one-of-a-kind workout experience! At the center of it all is our slatmill, a non-motorized treadmill powered by pure "paw power." Your dog sets the pace, getting a safe, stimulating workout that supports both body and mind.

Safety and comfort? Always top priority. Our slatmill features shock-absorbing slats, and every session is closely monitored to ensure your pup feels great from start to finish. Our van is fully climate-controlled too—perfect for keeping cool on warm Sydney days.

I’m certified in Dog First Aid, and I use positive reinforcement, toys, and plenty of encouragement to help every dog feel confident and motivated. Even the shyest pups often surprise their humans—once that natural running instinct kicks in, they’re off and loving it!

Let’s get those tails wagging!

While slatmill exercise can be a beneficial addition to your dog's regular activities, it is important to note that it does not replace regular dog walking. It is meant to complement their usual exercise routine. As with any new activity, it is always recommended to consult with your vet to determine if slatmill exercise is suitable for your dog's specific needs and health condition.

What to Expect

Before

Please ensure your dog does not eat anything for at least an hour prior to our session. Additionally, please take your dog out to do their business right before our arrival and have their harness on (if you have otherwise, we do). Want to be part of the fun? You can come join us by the van or if you prefer, we provide a convenient door to door service.

During

Your dog will be guided to step up onto the slatmill. Once your dog is comfortable, I will encourage them to take steps forward, allowing them to set their own pace. Your dog has the freedom to stop or go faster as they please. Rest assured, I will continuously monitor your dog for safety and signs of overexertion. To ensure a focused and individualized experience, your dog will be the only one running at a time and will not come into contact with other dogs. Additionally, I will provide water for your dog throughout the session to keep them hydrated.

After

DO NOT feed your dog immediately after their session, please wait at least an hour to reduce the risk of bloating.

After the session, your dog may exhibit signs of tiredness, such as lying on its stomach to cool down and panting. These are normal behaviors and should not be a cause for concern if subsided within a few minutes. If you'd like, you can give your dog a gentle leg massage to provide additional comfort.
